This is a very interesting yet insightful and objective view of the whole phenomenon that relates to performance enhancing drugs in the USA. It's very apt title absolutely says it all! I can see how non-Americans might not really get a sense of what the big deal is... Only real inaccuracy I noticed (just because I've followed the story so closely) - which does not substantially affect the overall message is: "victor Conte named names...including Barry Bonds." Conte outed some elite Athletes, most notably Marian Jones, but he has never named Bonds. If he had, the recent perjury trial would not have depended so much on Greg Anderson's testimony.
Drawn into the controversy, Fogel actually helped to engineer Rodchenkov’s “defection” to the ., and is mentioned in the whistleblower’s May 2016 tell-all story to the New York Times. Now, the documentary fills in the gaps. But mostly it serves to humanize this self-confessed cheat, putting Rodchenkov’s behavior in the context of far greater corruption. Given all the attention on Russia in recent news coverage, Fogel’s Putin-centric approach will likely prove more effective than a deeper investigation into just how widespread such behavior is around the globe. But the greater takeaway is that the game itself is rigged, and the Russians only lost because they got caught.
