Polycythemia (elevated red blood cell count) is a rare blood disease in which the body produces too many red blood cells. Causes of polycythemia are either primary (acquired or genetic mutations) or secondary (diseases, conditions, high altitude). Examples of primary polycythemia include:

  • Fatigue
  • Excessive sweating
  • Unintended weight loss
  • Gouty arthritis, usually in big toe
  • Shortness of breath
  • Headaches
  • Dizziness
  • Weakness
  • Feeling pressure or fullness on the left side of the abdomen where the spleen is located.
  • Vision problems
  • Heavy bleeding from minor cuts
  • Bleeding from the gums
  • Itching
  • Redness in the face
  • A burning feeling in the hands and feet

Complications of a high red blood cell count include blood clots, heart attack, stroke, enlarged liver and spleen, angina (heart pain), AML leukemia, and heart failure. Blood clots in the liver or kidney can cause sudden, intense pain. Treatment goals for patients with polycythemia are to manage symptoms and reduce the risk of complications like heart attack and stroke.

Treatment: If a pancreatic or liver tumor is identified and able to be surgically excised, the skin lesions may normalize for an extended period of time, but because these tumors metastasize (spread to other areas of the body) quickly, surgery is not curative. In cases of end stage liver disease, surgery is not possible, and the goal of therapy is to increase quality of life and decrease uncomfortable skin lesions with supportive care and addressing the nutritional abnormalities. Supportive care includes supplementing protein and necessary minerals and enzymes through the diet and oral supplements or by weekly intravenous amino acid infusions that are performed in the hospital on an outpatient basis until improvement in the skin is noted. Unfortunately, despite the supportive care, the disease will progress.

Many advanced users stack several compounds in order to get maximum results from their cycle. Normally when your stacking these types of supplements its best to use single compounds instead of premixed stacks. The problem with using a premixed stack is you may get more of one compound than you want. Most of these products have sweet spots. Lets use h-drol for an example according to many of the forums out there 75mg is the sweet spot for this compound. Now lets say you have a halodrol product that is mixed with 10mg of Methylstenbolone. In order to get the proper amound of hdrol you will get more than the recommended dose of M-sten.
